Chris Clark and The Field Guide Radio present “Cutoff: Sustain” – Art and Electronica, A Weekend Happening

1 March |6:00 PM - 3 March |10:00 PM

A series of events for the opening weekend of POW THANET 2024 curated by Chris F Clark.

The weekend will comprise wall-based visual works by Chris, along with a series of live electronic music, video installations and opportunities for interaction.

Electronic playlists on loop in between album showcases, chilled vibe for people to just hang out, have a few drinks, eat pizza.

“The notion of rest can be difficult for artists to accept and implement within our practice, feeling that we are lazy or less of an artist if we don’t create work daily – the idea of napping completely off radar. But as we mature, we arrive at the point of acceptance and appreciation of the power of rest, to cut off from the constant motion and actually pause, slow down and rest. The result of this is a renewed energy, and the ability to better sustain our art practice. Not lazy, not less than, but actually sharper, and more powerful.

The title, Cutoff : Sustain derives from electronic music production – electronica forming a central component of the show – while also having a clear relevance to the theme of Rest. With this in mind, the event considers the metaphorical application of Cutoff and Sustain synthesiser parameters in our creative practice and life in general.”
