Civil Villains’ own brand of forward-thinking and abrasive alt-rock combines elements of math-rock, art punk and post-hardcore to bolster fitful riffs and complex rhythmic arrangements to crushing effect.
The trio already have a host of UK live credits to their name—including dates with Listener, Poly-Math, Wild Throne, Bellevue Days, Kid Kapichi, and many others—but the real evidence of their impressive self-starting chutzpah comes from a pair of extensive North American DIY tours booked by the band themselves.
Previously releasing a handful of singles recorded at Brighton Electric with Josh Harrison (Royal Blood, British Sea Power, Tigercub), EP Snake Oil was produced by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios (USA Nails, John), with the debut five-track EP a concerted effort to encapsulate the band’s high-energy live show.

Show starts at 8pm, doors open at 7pm. Make sure you arrive in advance so you can make yourself comfortable and grab food and a drink, if you like.
The cafe serves real Italian sourdough pizza with choice of vegan and gluten-free options. The bar serves a selection of affordable high quality Italian wines you won’t find anywhere else.
