The 101 Film Club is thrilled to announce the UK premiere of a comedy horror gem from director Elvar Gunnarsson (Einn, Fangar) which IMDB has reviewed as “weird and awesome” and “a must-see for horror fans”!
‘It Hatched’ follows the couple Mira and Pétur as they journey from Nashville, Texas, to Iceland, where they’re planning to open a guesthouse in a remote fjord. Their plans fall apart when an ancient Icelandic demon starts harassing them with vivid night terrors. What follows is a chain of events that include Pétur facing dementia, Mira laying an infant-sized egg and them both squaring up against the tall task of… parenting.
One of the weirdest films you will see for a long time. The excellent choice of actors really conveys the humor of the film as not many actors could pull off this over-the-top kind of acting. Incredible camera work and unique use of perspectives, with shots like comicbook frames and insane practical effects and props. True horror comedy at its finest with a few serious undertones and relatable real-life accents.
