“Muslimgauze” session III

Maksum sound system presents Muslimgauze, the enigmatic creation by percussionist, Bryn Jones.

Musical soundscapes of experimental polyrhythmic percussion dedicated to Bryn’s focus on Middle Eastern turmoil, specifically though not exclusively for the plight of the Palestinian people.

The prolific, intense outpouring of musical material created between 1982 and 1999 incorporates a wide range of styles from traditional ethnic percussion, atmospheric drone, hip-hop, dark ambient, dub and techno.

Created using analogue equipment and total dedication, Bryn spent his life expressing through the sounds he created, a reaction, to what we witness happening and has been happening throughout the Islamic world for decades in the best way he could; with an intriguing, mystifying, sonic force of unique creativity without verse or lyric, it is the sound of resistance.
